Frequently asked

I'm a solo engineer — Pro or stay on Starter?

If you use Cursor / Claude daily, don't need premium field packs, and aren't in a rush to export personas, Starter is enough. Pro unlocks two things: ① Staff Engineer / PM / author-level premium fields; ② a way to back the open-source project. Upgrade when either becomes true.

Can I try Pro for free first?

Yes. Ping wsl497810 on WeChat with your use case and I'll send a 14-day full-feature trial. Honest feedback matters more to me than the money.

What's in the "premium field packs"?

Planned for Day 1–30 first batch: staff-engineer (systems thinking · engineering tradeoffs), product-designer (Stripe / Linear tone), borges / zhang-ailing (author-level writing voices). Pro subscribers get early access before public release.

Is Team worth it?

Only if at least 2 teammates are already running smoothly on Starter. During the 0-to-1 validation phase, Pro × N seats is cheaper and more flexible.

Will Aether go closed source?

Never. Core CLI + 9 starter fields stay MIT forever. The paid tier is "premium field packs + hosted services", not "closed core infrastructure".
